And then he reads a passage that revived a feeling inside, a feeling which was accompanied by images of his grandfather telling him the story of his midlife and how he met their grandmother. It was similar in the story he is reading that he can easily insert his grandfather as one of the characters. And he imagined this and decided whether he could fancy the new character in the book differently to how he sees his grandfather in real life.

"If I could only have met him at his time", he thought, "what a warm experience that would be."
